the Golden lining

Every situation has a golden lining....  I am kicked out of bed early so I am the luck one who gets to see it.

Grandpa's chair

My great Grandfather made this chair for my Grandfather when he was a little boy.  All my life it has been in the corner of his bathroom with his boots setting on it.

When I was little I always wanted to set on it.  He would say if I could move it could use it.  I have this memory of grabbing it from behind and wrestling it to the living room.  At the time it went to my chest....  now it goes to my knee.

When he passed away all the grand children were ask to pick one thing of his to keep.  This chair is what I picked.  Every one else picked the things they thought were worth the most money.  I chose wisely and now they all want my chair.

Something tells me that today is going to be beautiful.

Ravens

For some reason there is a flock of ravens that think they live here now.  I kind of like them.  They are better than a watch dog and keep leaving me feathers and little shiny trinkets.

storm

Winter is here!  I don't want to hear any complaining about not having enough moisture.  (do you hear me farmers?)

This is the mountain meadow where I got married.

arches

I don't know what it is about this time of year that makes the best sunsets.  This is what the entrance to arches national park looks like from here.

november

Jim is working his butt off here at the house so I will let him go snowmobiling.  I think the fact that he can see the snow now is a great motivator.

walk with Daddy

I took this when we still had leaves.  It is a good thing too, because they all blew off last night.

indian summer

How wonderful!  It warmed up again!  Lets just enjoy it while we can.

deer

Here is our new pet!  Well, maybe not pet.  She has come into the yard every night for a week though.

blue morning

This is taken from the fish pond looking out at Moab.  It was pretty icy and I could see my breath.

afternoon drive

Not a bad picture for leaning backwards out of the window of a speeding truck.

merigolds

I have no idea why they haven't frozen yet...  but I am glad they are still giving a sunny glow to the back step.

fall

When Jack frost nips everything in site the daisies still bloom.   This little butterfly is grateful!
